Hello, sunflowers 🌻
If your skin is a bit dry, but you crave a smooth and even tan, you’ve come to the right place!
Are you’re dreaming of a summer or winter glow but the heat or cold just turned your skin into a nightmare, or your natural skin type is a little drier than others – don’t worry!
I’ve gathered together all of my top tips for self-tanning dry skin.
How many of you have already encountered dry skin? Are you one of those who often have dry skin? I got the driest skin in the summer probably due to the sea and heat and salty water. Nevertheless, I still used products that were not suitable for my skin. I mean, what girl doesn’t want tanned skin in the summer? At the time, I didn’t care about my skin, the important thing was that I had a nice tanned complexion.
Yeah I know, I wasn’t exactly smart. 😂

Somehow it wasn’t until this summer that I started taking more care of my skin and looking for products that would be appropriate. Since I still wanted nicely tanned skin, I was looking for products that wouldn’t further dry out my skin, but I would still get a nice complexion. Because I am one of the people who have paler skin and I don’t want to expose myself to the sun too much in the summer, I have been using fake tan for many years. As I mentioned, I didn’t pay too much attention to my skin for few years, so I just used any fake tan I got at the store. However, this year because my skin was so dry in the early summer, I decided to do a little research about the fake tan on the website and which one would be best for my dry skin.
Getting a fake tan with sprays/creams or foams is the healthiest way to get a tanned complexion. It is true that this also has its disadvantages, but the main plus is that you do not have to deal with the dangerous sun rays that can cause skin cancer.
How does a spray tan/creams or foams work?
The process is very simple. A thin mist is sprayed or applied onto the desired areas of skin, and the skin turns into a natural-looking shade of tan. The process works because of a chemical called Dihydroxyacetone (DHA). … When they come into contact, the skin cells become several shades darker. The positive effects of tanning creams/sprays,.. are that they are suitable for all skin types. But you have to choose the right product for your skin. Some further dry out the skin, some further moisturize the skin. If you have oily skin and use a product that additionally moisturizes the skin, you will most likely be able to get additional skin imperfections. I have very dry skin, so I have to choose a foam that moisturizes the skin or foam that does not dry out the skin even more.
The most important thing for dry skin is to prepare it well before tanning. Well, this is of course important for any skin type.
I start with a slightly longer warm bath first. Maybe that’s also an excuse for me for some relaxing me-time. Then, of course, I start with the usual procedure when applying self-tanning cream. First I take care of a good body peeling, and after the peeling, a moisturizer is very important. Why? Moisturizing cream for dry skin is especially important. You really need to choose a cream that will further nourish your skin. I personally use Tanzzo after sun cream. Then when I moisturize my skin really well I use a tanning foam.
And finally, a product that I have been using for a few years and that I am really happy with.
My favorite self-tanning foam/cream is »Isle of Paradise Glow Clear Self-Tanning Mousse in Medium.« I discovered the product quite by accident on the website while browsing for »Best spray tan for dry skin«.
I recommend it to everyone regardless of her skin type. I think it is more important for dry type of skin how you nourish the skin or prepare it for self-tanning. For skin preparation, I definitely recommend Tanzzo after-sun cream. I will also be very happy for your response, which product was the best for you or which one you use the most.
I wish you a pleasant use of self-tanning cream/spray or foam but remember, however, that it is very important to nourish the skin even more if you have dry skin.
XOXO
